San Antonio (April 25-26, 2021)

From Marfa to San Antonio it was another scenic drive with staticky radio stations along Route 90, through the photo-stop-worthy town of Alpine (elev. 4,485 ft) and another overlook/point of interest called Howard’s Well. My odometer rolled over lucky 77,777 miles at some point on this leg; I bought a 777 lottery ticket at the first opportunity to do so, but it was a bust.

What to say about my brief stay in San Antonio? Everyone had said it was a cool town, and they were right. The architecture? Cool. The riverwalk? Cool. The Alamo? Adoooooorably sized (turns out NOT everything is bigger in Texas, my friends), but cool enough! I couldn’t go in on account of Ollie but 10/10 would return with a human friend, to the Alamo and San Antonio as a whole.

If the road back to New Orleans was worth taking photos of, I must have simply been tired. The only photo I got was of the Buc-ee’s in Katy– still the only one I’ve been to!
